This is to raise funds for Genesis Research Trust whose fundamental aim is to ensure women have ongoing good health throughout their lives and that more women have a normal pregnancy and a healthy baby.&nbsp;</span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 17.0px; font: 13.0px Tahoma; color: #202020;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">Their Chairman is Professor Robert Winston.</span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 17.0px; font: 13.0px Tahoma; color: #202020;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">I am an only child and my parents went on to have 3 stillborn boys. I was under the care of Professor Winston's team in the mid-eighties after my two boys were stillborn. Had they lived they would now be 25 and 26 years old. Now because of the advances in research, made possible with the help of donations and fundraising, there is every chance that my 28 year old daughter will have healthy babies.</span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; line-height: 17.0px; font: 13.0px Tahoma; color: #202020;"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px;">For the past 16 years I have provided 24 hour care for Jenny who is now in her sixties and is a big part of our family. She has a learning disability as part of&nbsp;</span>her condition (PKU) but, thanks to Genetic research, this can now be detected with a simple blood test a few days after birth and successfully treated.
