<p>Hi everyone!</p> <p>As I'm sure you're aware,&nbsp;I've been getting&nbsp;back into riding and&nbsp;horse&nbsp;care recently but unfortunately, the more involved I get, the more I have been&nbsp;shocked and appaulled (obviously not with my riding school!). As the recession&nbsp;hits, more and more horses are being neglected and abandoned by their owners. I won't repeat these stories but some of them&nbsp;can be found here: <a href="http://www.redwings.org.uk/welfare/rescue-stories/">http://www.redwings.org.uk/welfare/rescue-stories/</a></p> <p>I've&nbsp;had enough of reading these&nbsp;stories&nbsp;and feeling like there's nothing I can do&nbsp;about it but I've decided&nbsp;there is something I could do! There's a wonderful charity called Redwings who take in these horses,&nbsp;rehabilitate them&nbsp;and in some cases rehome them. They also support legal action against irresponsible owners and&nbsp;those who use horses as a cover in organised drug trafficking (i.e. transporting horses back and forth over the channel with substances hidden in their trailers/ boxes).</p> <p>In aid of this charity, I've decided it would be fitting to run round Cheltenham racecourse without a horse...! I appreciate it is an expensive time but any contribution (even 50p or&nbsp;&pound;1) would be hugely appreciated. I'll be running on Sunday 20th May...yep, a week after my wedding!</p> <p>So...will you take a punt on&nbsp;this two legged mare? ;)</p> <p>Thank you, Lindsey.</p>
