I am doing this challenge because so many people who have been close to me have suffered as a result of cancer, and I know that locally Bolton Hospice has been a great help to both people who are fighting this disease and their families.

I am also doing the challenge because I LOVE the hills.

I am putting together something I love, with something I know will stretch me: the distance in the time combined with the three big hills of Yorkshire will push my poor knees to the limit.

I went up at Easter to recce the route and had a glorious time. The prospect of trying to do it in 12 hours is very daunting, especially as I have had to cut back on my training recently due to the demands of work and setting up my new business.

I look forward to August, and working as part of a team to top Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
