Story
As most of you know 7 years ago I lost my Dad to Cancer. It has taken me along time to accept this and understand what good could possibly come from it. I now know that I am extremely blessed as Dad has left me the most precious gift in the world. He has given me the chance to use my experiences to help others. He's given me compassion and courage to face things and has made me realise what is important in life and for that I am extremely grateful.
I have been volunteering at The Olive Tree Cancer Support Centre for a few months now and I cannot begin to describe the amazing job that everyone does there. It is an alternative therapy support centre which offers entirely free therapies to cancer patients, their carers, friends and family members whether they have lost a loved one to Cancer or they are going through treatment. All of the people that work there are volunteers and I feel extremely proud to be a part of the team. Every day I work there I am so inspired by both the strength of the patients and the care and kindness of the volunteers.
I've decided to complete the Pillars to Plough sponsored walk to raise as much money and awareness as I can for this fantastic charity. On the 8th of April I'll be walking the full 20 miles from the Brighton Pillars A23 to The Plough pub in Ifield.
This is my time to make Dad proud so please give generously.
