10 years ago I had the mad idea of setting up a charity to rescue and rehome death row greyhounds and lurchers who found themselves in a put to sleep situation in council pounds. Who ever knew from such little acorns what a big oak tree would grow. Now 10 years later Greyhound Gap holds up to and around 100 dogs safely in our care at anyone time costing us between 6-10k a month in bills for kennelling and veterinary work. Before rehoming all of our dogs are vaccianted, de flead and wormed, microchipped and neutered and we have a FULL take back policy in place for the duration of the hounds lives.

Aswell as it being 10 years of Gap existing next month I hit personally the big 40 AND later in the year will also become a Grandmother. I felt that I had to do something to mark Gaps birthday and something big that would help to raise funds and something that would serve and stay with me as a reminder for life of the personal achievement of not only myself over the last 10 years but all of our wonderful volunteers.

What better way than to agree to have Greyhound Gap's hounds head tattooed on my wrist? Greyhound Gap is so very personal and dear to me but I am not sure I ever expected it to be *quite THIS personal lol* so its quite a big undertaking.

I have set a target off £2000 and that may be a bit optimistic BUT will promise to undertake this and have it done regardless of whether we hit that total. When we reach the £500 mark I will start to finalise the design and when we reach the £1000 mark will set a date to have it done!

Without everyones continued support and mad ideas and constant fundraising this last 10 years would not have been possible and now as Founder I felt it was MY TURN to step up, raise some much needed funds and do this as a personal thank you to everyone over the years who have given us so much.

Whats a bit of pain and branding for the sake of the dogs ey!
