Story
My story began in September when my husband Keith kindly signed me up for the Silverstone half marathon knowing that I would never do so myself. Training was slow, in fact I think I was in denial. And anyway I had months to train! This was true but I could hardly run 2 miles without having to stop for breath. Christmas came and went and then reality set it. I really didn't have long left to train. So against the odds (rain, wind, hunger and tiredness) out I went. I ran the streets of Cranfield again and again and again and slowly but surely I've made it to 10.1miles. Without stopping! I've had hail, wind, rain, grit (4 times I've been gritted now) but I'm getting there.
And then I was told the awful news that my friends mother-in-law was dying of cancer. Why does this evil disease always get the most beautiful, kind and caring people? As a doting Grandma and childminder, children are her life. She would never want any child to go through what she is going through.
So, with just over 2 weeks to go before the half marathon I've decided to run for Clicsargent to help in anyway I can. No child should have to suffer the effects of cancer.
