Gibson Hollyhomes do Strictly Come Dancing · 23 June 2018

We support young people and adults with mental health issues in Manchester. We're an independent, self-financed charity offering services to those most in need. We promote positive attitudes to mental health to challenge stigma, increase awareness and work for better mental health for all.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Around 1 in 4 of us will experience mental health problems every year in the UK.

As a local Manchester agency that works with both local clients and candidates, when the time came to pick a charity to support in 2018 it was important to us to choose an organisation that supported and actively aimed to help tackle the big issues facing our community. The two main issues we wanted to address were Mental Health and Homelessness, which led us to find our Charity Partner
for 2018: Manchester Mind.

For our Summer Fundraiser, and in aid of this wonderful organisation, we wanted to do something a little bit special and after much brainstorming one idea shone bright above the rest...

Da dada da da da da, da dada da da...

On June 23rd our consultants will be donning their best dancing shoes (and as many sequins as humanly possible) and taking to the dance floor for a Strictly Come Dancing-inspired extravaganza.

The rules are simple: consultants in their pairs will perform 2 dances  - one Latin and one Ballroom - that will last two minutes each. The winning pair will then be selected by our brilliant guest judges and crowned the Gibson Hollyhomes Strictly Winners of 2018.

What you need to know:

We would like you to come and watch this crazy festival of uncoordinated recruiters circle around the ball room.  So we are asking that you make a £10 donation for your ticket and enjoy a complementary drink on arrival and maybe a cocktail sausage or two. The event will only work if we can fill Chorlton Irish Centre with sarcastic clapping and maybe the odd guffaw.

We start to dance at 7.45pm, so please arrive at 7.15pm to get your ringside seat. If you make your donation online you will receive your e-ticket within 3 working days.

We would like to thank Better Placed, Metis Law, Omni Resource Management and Clyde and Co for supplying the judges.

What's more, our consultants have been given free reign of their music and outfit choices, so this will truly be a night where anything could happen.

We have tried to push ourselves outside of any comfort zone that could possibly exist… I hope you'll agree and give generously. If you can’t make it on the night, the cause is still brilliant and there will be enough youtube footage to entertain.

As a team we are both excited and terrified to twirl and shimmy the night away in aid of such a great cause and we hope that you will support us and give generously for what will be a fantastic event.

Thank you,

Lisa and The Team at Gibson Hollyhomes
