Story

Lisa passed away at dawn on Sunday 28th May 2017 following a short and brave fight against cancer. A Wife to Shaun and Mum to Daniel and Rhianne, Lisa was diagnosed in September 2016 with inflammatory breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form. 16 weeks of dose dense chemotherapy commenced in October 2016, followed by a double mastectomy and lymph node clearance in February 2017. In April 2017, scans revealed that the cancer had spread to her bones and liver. A second phase of chemotherapy had commenced in an attempt to manage the returning incurable cancer, sadly within a few weeks, following four emergency visits to hospital, Lisa was unable to survive the disease.

During this challenging 9 months, the breast cancer care doctors, nurses and supporting staff at Spire Hospital Cardiff, Withybush Hospital Haverfordwest, Prince Philip Hospital Llanelli and Glangwili Hospital Camarthen, treated and cared for Lisa in challenging circumstances, helping Lisa maintain hope even up to the last few days. The importance of care during illness is often overlooked by the medical and research elements and therefore Lisa's family have nominated Breast Cancer Care Charity for donations in her memory in the hope that others can receive the care they need during treatment for cancer.

Any donations, however small, will be greatly appreciated for such an important cause.

Thanks,

Shaun, Daniel & Rhianne
