On Monday 13 February 2012 myself and two mad friends Aggy and Jenny, start a 6 day ascent to the snow capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro - 'The Roof of Africa'.
One of the World's Seven Continental Summits it stands 5895 metres high. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world.
Why you ask.... I am raising funds for Chailey Heritage School's new Young Adults' Transition Service Day Centre. This exciting new service will offer a range of provisions to young disabled adults with multi complex physical, learning and medical needs from across the Southeast. It will include a Gymnasium with specially adapted gym equipment, a Living Skills area, ICT Suite, Arts and Crafts area, Rest and Relaxation areas and Rendezvous Cafe.
I recently visited Chailey Hertiage as I wanted to see exactly where all of the kind donations will be going. It offers so many facilities with amazing staff and a relaxed atmosphere. It makes such a difference to the lives of the children and young adults' that are there.
If you would like to know more about Chailey Heritage please visit their website www.chs.org.uk.
A massive thank you to everyone who donates no matter how big or small, I am self funding the trip so every penny raised will go to Chailey Heritage xxxxxx
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
