Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 16th November 2012 our baby boy Jack was born healthy weighing 9lb 9oz. Jack has one big sister Katie 5, and two big brothers Jamie 4 and Ryan 3. There were no concerns with Jack and we were discharged home two days later.
At seven weeks old, Jack was still jaudice and had to under go blood tests and scans, Jack was diagnosis with Biliary Atresia (A very rare Liver Disease). Biliary Atresia is a life treatening condition in babies and only affects about one in every 18,000 babies. There is no known cause of Biliary Atresia.
We were transferred from Daisy Hill Hospital to Birmingham Children's Hospital Liver Specialist (Ward 8). Desy and I went through one of the most worrying, emotional and stressful times of our lives. We will never be able to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff enough both in Daisy Hill Hospital and on the Liver Unit for the care and treatment they give Jack, and the support and reassurance they give to us as Jacks parents.
Jacks is doing fantastic and meeting all his milestones and i just want to show my appreciation to them by taking part in Newry City Half Marathon on Sunday 26th May to raise money for the Liver Unit and would appreciatite as many sponsors as possible either online or I have a sponsor card.
So please dig deep and donate now :-)
