Story
There are an estimated 300,000 young homeless people at any one given night. 67% of young people in homelessness accommodation are there because relatives or friends are no longer willing to accommodate them.
Byte Night is a national sleep out event which is one of the UK’s top 25 mass participation charity events and is the largest charity sleep-out having raised over £9.2 million since the first event. Each year thousands of people and teams from technology and business sectors give up their beds for a night to help change the lives of young people
through tackling the root causes of homelessness. This keeps vulnerable young people off the streets and enables them to build better lives.
The 2017 event and fundraising for the night takes place this year on Friday 6th October where we will enjoy networking, a quiz and a warm meal at Kingston Park, home of the Newcastle Falcons until we head outside where we will sleep rough for one night by the site of the pitch.
I’m doing this as part of the ‘Sage Sleepers’ team where myself and 50 others will sleep under the stars (this may come as a surprise to those who know me well and know I’m terrified of the dark, hate the outdoors and have never even been camping!)
Please sponsor me as little or as much as you can, any donations would be very much appreciated
