Lisa's Wobbleberry Challenge

Wobbleberry Challenge · 30 September 2017
The Willberry Wonder Pony charity was set up by Hannah Francis, an inspirational young rider, who sadly died this year from Osteosarcoma. You can read her story here: https://www.willberrywonderpony.org/
The Wobbleberry Challenge is for a group of middle-aged, wimpy, unfit riders to compete at a British Eventing 80 event in the autumn of 2017. To get there will require many other challenges along the way - such as getting fit, losing weight, conquering nerves, training hard, and learning the skills necessary to be able to compete safely.
My personal challenge is to overcome my anxiety about jumping - I rarely leave the ground nowadays - and then only if there is someone on the ground telling me to! I have always dreamed of eventing but thought it wasn't for "someone like me". Now I am on a mission to make this happen by this time next year!
I have a fantastic horse, Mojo, in the picture, but he has never been cross-country and he finds being ridden outside in the middle of a field instead of in a nice safe arena a bit mind-blowing - so a bit of a challenge for him too.
I have set a challenging target for the fundraising as I need to make sure I have the motivation to keep going even when I am very scared and/or suffering from the inevitable aches and pains along the way. Please give whatever you feel comfortable with - I have committed to make up any shortfall and, if my target is achieved, I will match it I am funding all the costs of meeting the challenge so 100% of your donation will be passed on to the charity
Looking forward to a challenging year! #inspiredbyHannah #kickingcancersbutt
