MISSION COMPLETE!!!! Oscar, Jaxson and Hamilton have now completed all 10 events, after a very fun and sunny weekend! Please enjoy looking at the photos of them in action. UPDATE- Following the fantastic response so far we've decided to raise our target and in addition to the safari trip we now hope to raise enough money to buy all 20 children a new pair of shoes!   As a family, in the last year we have been supporting a charity known as the Coco’s Foundation, specifically helping The Ubombo Orphanage in South Africa which currently homes, loves and cares for 20 children.  All these children are sadly HIV positive, none of whom were born with this terrible disease!  These children have very little thing’s in life.  They have no family and very few clothes and they are so grateful for just the simplest of things.   Last year we held a coffee morning which raised £200 for the Orphanage, with this money the Coco’s team took all the children to the beach for the first time and then bought them KFC on the way home!  We also sent over children’s beads and elastic so they could all make themselves jewellery and then a few months later we sent a patchwork wall hanging.  Each child created their own personalised square and the finished piece now hangs with pride on their wall.  At Christmas we (and some of our friends) helped to fill and send each child their own shoe box as a Christmas present. The boxes contained colouring books, toy cars, hairbrushes, clothes, toothbrushes etc.  The pictures on the Coco’s Foundation website show how these little things really do enhance their lives so much.  Please take a look at <a href="http://www.cocosfoundation.co.uk/">www.cocosfoundation.co.uk</a> for more details on what’s being done to help these children.   The Coco’s team are visiting the Orphanage again this May and we asked them what we could do to make a little difference this time?  “A Safari!” was their response.  This may sound strange but the children have never seen elephants and the big wildlife that is literally on their doorstep.  Any Game gets killed and eaten so the only place where you can see them is in the Reserves.  A trip to the Game Reserve would be a very exciting day for the children and so our aim is to raise enough money to pay for this trip.    We would also like to send them some safari animal hand puppet kits that they can make and then enjoy playing with for many hours to come!   Our three sons, Oscar, Jaxson and Hamilton have decided that they would like to raise some money for this treat and over the weekend of 23rd and 24th April they will be attempting to complete a Sponsored Decathlon of events. The events will be -   1.       Run around an acre 2.       Swim 10 lengths 3.       Cycle/scooter 1 mile 4.       Bounce 200 times on the trampoline 5.       Score 25 goals 6.       Shoot 20 hoops 7.       Shoot 10 NERF bull’s-eye shots 8.       Knockdown 5 skittles strikes 9.       Jump 50 meter sack race 10.   Relay 100 meters with egg and spoon   Please be kind enough to sponsor what you can, every penny really makes a difference.  Just £1 a day will feed all 20 children!   With much gratitude, huge thanks and kindest regards   Justin, Lisa, Oscar, Jaxson and Hamilton Wright.
