Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I like my feet firmly on terra firma, quite simply I do not have a head for heights.  Indeed, even really tall rollercoasters bring about blind panic and fear (not when I was young, but as I have got older). However, I have been thinking for a long time about a skydive as many people take on this once in lifetime challenge for the Pink Ribbon Foundation - and as Head of Partnerships, PR and Events at the charity - it is I who help them to organise their jump to support our vital work and those affected by breast cancer. Everyone that takes on a skydive raves about the experience and says how it is the best thing that they have ever done - with many, even doing it again!  I haven't heard anything negative about the challenge and all the photos and videos that I have seen, look amazing!  Plus I'll be strapped to a handsome (probably much younger) man - wants not to love!?!

So, last year I decided to bite the bullet and to do something that I fear in the hope that it will make me (even) stronger and will prove that there really is nothing that I cannot do.  I hoped that the experience would be life changing.  However, after two postponed jumps, the first due to a chest infection and the second due to poor weather conditions, I am hoping that it will be third time lucky this year!  Also, it's very safe to 'sell' an experience to others that I have no experience of myself - so this will also give me an insight into those who jump for our charity.

With all this in mind, I urge you to donate whatever you can afford to my JustGiving page ..... remember, it really is a challenge for me and life vs death (not your average 5K charity run - which I might take on later in the year)!  Any amount, no matter how small, will make a huge difference to those diagnosed with breast cancer , which is roughly one person every 10 minutes in the UK!  I have set my fundraising target quite high at £1,200 but I'd really like to raise at least £2,000 for charity - so let's see what we can achieve together.

If you would like to join me on Sunday 28 April and also jump for our charity, that would be great!  Please send me an email at enquiries@pinkribbonfoundation.org.uk

Thank you in advance for reading my story and hopefully donating - I will keep you all up to date and of course share photos and video footage of the day!

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. About the charity

The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust, its mission is to fund projects and provide impartial financial support to breast cancer charities. We have very little infrastructure in order to ensure that all of the charities that benefit from the work of the Foundation receive maximum gain.
