Story

Hi all,

.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be assisting some of the dogs swimming the English Channel on Sunday September 6th in aid
of the Barney Fund (see below)- 3380 lengths of the Greyfriars pool in one VERY long day ,all dogs will be swimming as many lengths of the pool as they can in 30 mins, with me running alongside!....PLEASE SPONSOR ME!

The Barney Fund was set up by Greyfriars in 2002 in memory of Barney, a mastiff type cross, who was left tied to the gates of an RSPCA Centre aged about 8 weeks. Barney had badly deformed forelimbs and was unable to walk. After corrective surgery, the RSPCA contacted Greyfriars to see if we could help. Greyfriars provided rehabilitation and hydrotherapy free of charge and found a foster home for Barney. Barney was much loved by all our staff, his carers and our clients, many of whom made donations towards his medical costs.

As some of you know, I work as part of the team at Greyfriars and love my job, nothing quite beats the feeling of satisfaction when a dog  is able to lead a full and happy life as a result of our work, or find it's forever home after spending some time having rehabilitation and hydrotherapy at Greyfriars.

My own dog Molly (please see pictures) has avoided having hip surgery due to regular swimming at Greyfriars, and thanks to her, I found my dream job working in the pool.

I don't quite have webbed feet and gills! but spending my days in the pool helping the dogs is just fantastic!
