I am fundraising for BRIGHT charity, a fantastic charity that funds research into gastrointestinal cancers and more specifically my PhD project on pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive types of cancer with a 5-year survival rate approaching a dismal 5%. Poor survival rates are due to late diagnosis and ineffective treatments. Research into early detection or novel treatments are vital to improve survival. In order to carry out laboratory-based projects, funding is crucial and with your help we are one step closer to improving cancer patients’ lives.
