RBC Race for the Kids 2019 · 12 October 2019 ·
Our cousin Tommi relapsed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia after being 2 years clear. Thanks to Great Ormond Street Hospital, Tommi has received a new immunotherapy drug alongside chemotherapy as part of a clinical trial to try to find alternative treatments for children in his situation. We are grateful that there were treatment options available to us as not all families are so lucky. His specialist team have created a cocktail of chemotherapy that will hopefully get him to a strong enough remission for bone marrow transplant. As we are in a real race against time, Tommi is fortunate enough to have a bone marrow donor ready and waiting 😊 If all goes well, Tommi will have received his new stem cells by the time the Race for Kids starts in October.
Please help us to raise some funds on behalf of Tommi and his family, for the amazing work that happens everyday at Great Ormond Street Hospital and superb staff and teams within GOSH and GOSH Children's Charity.
Despite my dodgy knees, we are taking part in RBC Race for the Kids for the seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)Every day bring new challenges at GOSH. Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive. The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help to fund ground-breaking research; advanced equipment; child and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities.Over the last 10 years RBC Race for the Kids has raised an incredible £5 million for the hospital. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity are hoping to raise £1 million from this years event. With your support we can get there.
