Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In a weak moment, possibly alcohol induced, I agreed to join a friend on a fundraising trek in Nepal to celebrate our 50th birthdays this year - 50! did I hear you say, I know, difficult to believe isn't it!!!
The trip is completely funded by ourselves so any donations will go directly to our chosen charities, in my case the Youth Cancer Trust - a unique charity based in Bournemouth. It provides free, fun activity based holidays for young people (aged 14-30) suffering with cancer or any malignant disease.
The YCT relies wholly upon donations to exist and receives no government funding. If you would like more information on this charity, please visit their website at www.yct.org.uk.
Just to make you feel that I will be working hard (!) and therefore worth a donation, I'll be spending 5-7 hours a day for 9 days trekking up and down the Himalayas, showers are very few and far between and there is the possibility of altitude sickness. Bearing in mind that my day is a disaster if it doesn't start with a very hot shower and a hair wash, this trip is going to be extremely traumatic!
Oh, forgot to say, we're off on the 19 March.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
