Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On 8 May I will be walking the Fellsman, a 61 mile endurance walk across the rugged moorland of the Yorkshire Dales. The walk covers 11,000 ft of climbing which is equivalent to walking and up and down the Canary Wharf tower 15 times. I hope to complete the course within 27 hours. Yes, that means that I'm going to be a walking through the night! I can't promise that I'll be wearing the pink trousers in May... but I'll aim to recreate the "Titanic moment" at the top of each peak.
I am walking the Fellsman to raise money for my god daughter, Ella Marie, to attend Dorton House Nursery one day a week, a specialist nursery for children with visual impairments. Due to complications at birth, Ella was born with severe Cerebral Palsy and is partially sighted. The nursery provides Ella with one-to-one support and has been invaluable in Ella's development over the past year. Unfortunately as this is an independent nursery run by the Royal London Society for the Blind, her family have to pay for Ella to attend. Despite her disabilities, Ella is very sociable and loves being around others. She is very content and has a laid back personalty with a cheeky smile! I've attached a photo of her - see the photo library.
