I will be running the 2012 Virgin London Marathon for Seafarers UK in memory of my Father in Law Surgeon Vice Admiral Ian Jenkins who became chairman of the charity when he retired. The charity was formerly named the King George’s Fund for Sailors and they have been helping seafarers since 1917. Seafarers is a national charity that fundraises and gives grants to organisations that help serving or ex-serving seafarers from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy or fishing fleets, and their families
