UPDATE

Today was the day. I started out in the dark at 0600 in Blackheath (London), and about 10 hours and 40 minutes later I eventually arrived on the beach in Brighton! My un-official results are 37th overall, 3rd Female. Not bad from a field of 300+...

The race was much tougher than my previous 50 miler; although I felt well prepared throughout, the last few miles were a real killer! I have paid attention to the pro's though, I celebrated my achievement by taking an ice bath in the English Channel al a Paula Radcliff. Having seen the Olympic Village being built yesterday, who knows where my running adventures will take me?

Highlights of the day, good navigation, encouragement from my 'Coach' and a sleep on the way home, low points of the day, the first big hill at the end, the second big hill at the end, trying to walk now...

A huge thank you to everyone that has sponsored my efforts - I kept you all in mind while I was running. For anyone reading this that hasn't been able to donate, it's not too late. It's for a very good cause, and I don't often shake a tin at you, so dig deep!

Hi everyone,

As you all know I like to run! My transport is my legs and I thought why not put my passion and one skill to use! For the past few months I have been upping my mileage and putting in at least 3 hours training a day. The odd 5 hour effort too. There has been much pain and many blisters but I feel ready to take on my challenge of 56 miles from London to Brighton on Sunday 20th September. Armed with a big map, compass and hopefully some sense of direction and lloydy luck I will depart from Black Heath in London at 6am and at some time later that day/evening will crawl onto the Brighton Pier.

I wil be running in memory of Little Poppy and Minnie my best friends twin girls who tragically passed away following child birth. It's been hard to know what to say but The Edwards Trust have filled the gap with their expert care and help.

I will of course be remembering my Nanny Pye and my partners Grandad, Gerry O'Sullivan during the day who sadly passed away this year.
