Story
My name is Michelle Sharples and my great friend Dawn lost her mum Maureen Richmond to Colon cancer on the 2nd Sept 2005. During Maureens battle with cancer she was looked after by Christies Hospital in Manchester who are a leading cancer research centre. I have decided to swim down Loch Lomond 21.75 miles, mainly in the dark in memory of Maureen and for the Christie Charity. Maureen was a wonderful woman, warm and kind and full of life, anyone who knew here loved her immensly and misses her terribly but we all have great memories which keep us going.
Anyone reading this who has been touched by cancer will know Christies and the good work they do so please donate what you can, it may just help save a life.
