This October i'm attempting to run my third marathon and hope to raise some much needed funds for the Greyhound Awareness League (http://www.gal.org.uk/). I will be running in memory of my gorgeous boy, Morse who sadly passed away on 5th August 2010. He was a wonderful pet and won the hearts of everyone who met him. He even spent some time as a qualified Pets as Therapy dog and brought a lot of joy to elderly people living in care.
GAL does not receive any government funding and is run entirely by volunteers so every penny of your money will go directly to rehoming dogs like Morse (who retired from racing at about 4 years of age) and Floyd our current foster dog. Like so many thousands of other greyhounds Morse and Floyds fate was sealed when they were no longer profitable.
£7.50 will pay for a kennel for a night for a rescued greyhound or lurcher
£35 will pay for vaccination of a rescued greyhound or lurcher
£50 will pay for neutering of a rescued greyhound or lurcher
£75 will pay for a dental treatment for a rescued greyhound or lurcher
