Update on 23.06.10
Thanks so much to those of you who have already kindly sponsored us. We both completed the ride successfully. Hugh reached Brighton in just under 3.5 hours and Lizzie took a tiny bit longer. After a 15 minute break by the sea, the ride back to London was mainly uphill and into the wind and took about 4.5 hours, with a few pitstops on route to fill up the tank. The Devil's Dyke was as much fun as Ditchling Beacon... not one to be repeated.
Thanks very much again,
Hugh and Lizzie

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We're cycling to Brighton to raise money for the Lifeboats, who saved the life of Hugh's Grandmother on 7th May 1915 when she was just 3 months old. She was travelling with her family across the Atlantic on the RMS Lusitania, which was torpedoed 8 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale, Ireland. Without the lifeboats, both she and Hugh would not be here now. Our aim is to raise £35,000 to cover the costs of a new inshore lifeboat.
Hugh is planning to cycle both ways from London to Brighton to London (110 miles), hopefully in about 7 hours.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
Thanks very much again.
Lizzie and Hugh
