Story

Hello & Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page!!

Every year I take part in a charity event or two, last year was The Guy's Hospital Tower 450ft abseil & London to Brighton cycle ride. With travelling in 2012 I gave myself a much needed rest! My plans for 2013 are to run The Virgin London Marathon, as after years of trying I finally got a ballot place & I realized without having a hefty fundraising target I should still use the opportunity to make the whole process more worthwhile & beneficial to others.

I have done numerous 10k’s and I made it over the finish line for a half marathon once or twice, but never the full 26.something miles! So this will be my first full Marathon, something which I am both excited about and dreading! To train I have dusted off my running shoes and I am slowly getting back into the swing of running. I have signed myself up for two 10k races early next year and The Major Series Mud Run in Tunbridge Wells, which I am thinking will get VERY messy!!  I also intend on completing the Bupa 10k in May aid of Cancer Research & I hope to sign myself up for some kind of other challenge on a large scale…but more about that later!

I chose Holding on Letting Go as my chosen charity as it relies completely on donations and receives no government funding.

Here is an example of how your donation is spent-

£2  pays for the materials needed for 1 memory jar

£5  pays for the food and drink for one child attending our bereavement weekend

£10 pays for a Holding on letting go teddy bear given to each child at the end of a bereavement weekend

£50 pays for transport to and from the venue for a weekend for a family

£100 pays for the training of a volunteer member of staff

£300 pays for a bereaved child to attend one of our therapeutic weekends

Thank you very much for any donation you can make - it really is greatly appreciated by both myself and the charity!

Wish me luck!
