Imagine walking down a slum and witnessing with your own eyes the tears of hopelessness and brokenness, through the eyes of malnourished children begging for what could be their last moment in this dunyah. We live in a world where the richest of people are considered most important and honorable, and we can witness the deceit and great calamity which can bestow on the innocent when men and women lose their ways, and forget the commands of Allah. Imam Ali (AS) once said: " if poverty was a man, i would've killed him." For a man whom possess traits such as: patience, nobility and chivalry to announce words such as those, then it must be a paramount subject for his followers to commit in obliterating the idea of poverty and preventing the innocence from suffering such godawful outcomes.

Hazrat Ali (AS) also said:
"the main cause of poverty within a country is because its rulers and
officers desire to amass a great wealth of fortune and possessions whether fair or foul means." Alhamdulillah and Shukraan Allah that we have been blessed and gifted by Allah to live a life where food and shelter is ready and available for us, but nearly 15-20% of the population of the United Kingdom suffer from poverty and homelessness; also, about 50% or 3 billion people in this world don't have a decent supply of water and food, and 1 billion of that figure refers to children whom live in complete deprivation. We as Muslim community should be proud and grateful towards charities which are available for us like the WhoIsHussain and KSIMC charity whom give their utmost energy and commitment in supporting those less fortunate to possess the basic needs of survival. Together we have organised a London to Brighton Bike Ride which I myself would be participating in. I strongly encourage everyone to participate and spread the word of the event, as this would be a great opportunity for the followers of Ahlulbayt to prove your worth and take this journey as a sign of improving oneself, morally and psychologically for the sake of Allah.
