 Pluto is the Charity's biggest appeal yet – to raise £1.5million to bring one of the most advanced robotic operating surgical systems in the world to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital - the da-Vinci robotic system. This would be the first robotic system in Southern England dedicated to exclusively operating on babies and children. The only other one in the UK is currently at Jimmy’s Hospital in Leeds. There are over 600 of these machines in the USA. We are calling the robot Pluto.

This amazing machine is completely manually controlled by the surgeon and allows surgeons’ skills to be applied even more accurately than traditional operating methods.

Having the robot means more complex operations can be completed, quicker and with lower infection rates, speedier recovery times and going home sooner.
