Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A massive thank you to all who have sponsored me so far, it is amazing to receive so much support and kind words of encouragement.
The skydive finally happened on Sunday, one day later than planned due to heavy winds, the weather was fantastic on the day, fairly clear sky complete contrast to previous morning.
It was the most thrilling experience, a true adrenilin rush, the freefall was amazing, falling so fast it seems like a dream now! When the parachute opened it felt like I was floating! My instructor was fantastic and we had chat and floated and twirled around while I was allowed to steer. It felt like we were hanging around in the sky for ages looking down on an amazing view and finally landing so smoothly ... I want to do it again!
Photos to follow shortly....
Thanks for all your support and kind donations
During National Adoption week I will be taking part, along with others, in a sponsored 10,000 feet freefall 'Tandem Skydive' to help raise money for Adoption UK. Please sponsor me to help raise my target of £500 pounds and if possible over and above this amount!
I have worked for Adoption UK for 5 years now and over the years have watched in admiration as other help raise money by running marathons, doing the London 10k run and walking from Banbury to Brecon Beacons. Jumping out of a plane seemed like the obvious choice really. It has always been a dream of mine and now it is becoming a reality and I can help raise money for Adoption UK at the same, good times!Adoption UK is the only national charity run by and for adoptive parents. The charity’s aim is to provide and support a self-help network for adoptive parents to explore the unique social, emotional and developmental needs of adopted children and young people and their families. Through this network, Adoption UK also promotes effective learning practice, based on almost 40 years’ experience of adoptive parenting, which is integrated with current theories of trauma, attachment and development.
The charity’s aim is to provide information, advice, support and training to prospective adopters, adoptive parents and long-term foster carers. Our services include 8 training workshops, 50 local support groups, two magazines, a national helpline, a wide-ranging publications programme and and 500-strong peer support network.
