Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

My name is Lorraine Voisey and I am one of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist nurses here at UHL Hospitals and spend much of my working day educating, advising and supporting patients with various heart conditions to lead healthier more active lives. It is important to me “to practice what I preach” and have lost weight, stopped smoking and taken up regular exercise. Especially important, now I am going through the menopause as this puts women at increased risk of heart disease. In fact I am now in training for my 2 London Marathon which will take place on April 22 2012.

I will be running the marathon for SCOPE a charity dedicated to helping children and adults with Cerebral palsy lead as fulfilling and as independent life as possible. This is extremely close to my heart as my own daughter has the condition and she is my inspiration. I have pledged to raise as much as possible. Every penny will count I promise I know running 26.2 miles won,t be easy. It may well be tough, tiring and at times painful. But as I cross the finish line I know my daughter will be proud of her mum and all the effort will be so worthwhile. Please will you help me turn my dreams into reality

I will be posting regular updates at www.womensrunninguk .
