Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 12th September 2009 I am abseiling down the Wrexham Fire Station to raise funds for Nightingale House Hospice. Wrexham branch have chosen this as our Charity of the year and we have so far eaten so many cakes during their T at 3 month we are now all permanently on diets!! All the team have dressed up in yellow tutu's and ran a few kilometres - even Mervyn, Ian and Gareth!!!! We are liaising with the fund raising team at Nightingale House and are hoping to raise sufficient funds to purchase a WIFI system for them. The patients will then be able to link up with their families far away on the web cam. HSBC will match £1 for £1 so please dig deep.
I appreciate that we are continually asked to sponsor events but would really appreciate it if you could contribute - it may make it more attractive to you if you know that during a recent holiday when we visited a Water Park I had a panic attack at the top of the big slide!!!, also, for those of you who know me well, I will have to wear a crash helmet for the abseil and apparently have a harness strapped over my body!!!!. not a pretty sight!!
I have recently visited the Hospice and it is a truly amazing, happy place. The services include a 16-bed inpatient ward, a 15 patient daycare unit, an outpatient clinic, a specialist lymphodema unit, occupational therapy, complementary therapies, physiotherapy including a hydrotherapy pool, an ambulance service as well as a range of bereavement support services such as ReLease, a specialist service for children and young adults, this is a unique service that is provided by the Hospice
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you so very much
