Story

I'm 43 this year and ran the Edinburgh Marathon 3 years ago to celebrate by 40th Birthday - finishing in a reasonably respectable time but saying "never again". Thanks to Judy's powers of persuasion (and too many glasses of pink bubbles) here I am, 3 years later in training for another Edinburgh Marathon, (clearly not 3 years wiser!) Lorraine and I should have negotiated the deal better and agreed to somewhere a bit more glamorous - New York, The French Riviera or The Great Wall of China but we were happy with Portobello Prom, Cockenzie and Port Seton to support Judy in raising money for MND. Anita x (the lush with the Irn Bru!)

Judy put the challenge down early 2012, and how could one resist; chance to appreciate the lovely EL countryside once more on the early shift, seeing baby deer, pheasants...and giant rats! One marathon done in 2008 in NYC (amazing place to start), and when Judy posed the question, it was another carpe diem moment for myself and Anita. Delighted to run for MND – a terrible disease which has struck my family also in the last few years. Roll on 27/5 – and hey, blister patches are particularly useful for areas other than feet..! Lorraine x (high above San Fran)

Ok , so I am the complete novice, who after thirteen miles needs reviving, mmm long way to go! It is a great honour to run and raise awareness and funds for MND Scotland. This organisation helps fund my post as one of the MND Nurses in Scotland who cares for the 450 cases there are to date. Please help us raise as much as we can. This is a devastating illness and MND Scotland helps fund research into the causes. In time we will find the cure unil then join with us in spirit and generosity and be part of the race to find the cure! thanks Judy x (the one in surgeon's clothes... don't ask !)
