As a novice sailor I am excited and scared in equal measure but as T.S. Eliot once said "If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?"  When I was thinking of applying for a place on one of the yachts - I looked up the 5 important skills to master when learning to sail : docking and manoeuvring under power, navigation, sail trim, man-overboard recovery and Having Fun! Well I thought 4 I would have to work at but the last one I had already mastered!!!

So the challenge is to compete against 1600 boats around a 50.1 nautical mile course with 10 crew members. (8 Keech novice sailors)  We will be working together as a team for 2 days (including a practice day) in a snug environment both above and below decks!!!!
