Farleigh Hospice provides hospice care & support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. With approximately 40% of our annual running costs funded by the local NHS, we rely on the goodwill of the local mid Essex community to contribute to the £21,271 it costs to provide our services each day.

Story

When I was told there was an opportunity for some new footwear and all I had to do was sign a form, I didn't need to be asked twice!

But as if the shock of finding out it was for a pair of running shoes wasn’t bad enough……I couldn’t even pick the colour!!!!

As you probably know my feet haven’t really seen a pair of trainers since my school sports day (which was some time ago!) so why then am I prepared to put my stilettos and OPI nail varnish to the side and set myself this massive goal?

Farleigh Hospice provides vital specialist care and support to people affected by cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Along with many others, I have unfortunately witnessed first hand the impact cancer has on a person and their family, having lost two beautiful women in my life to this illness; my mum and my aunt. Having seen the comfort, support and dignity a hospice provides for their patients at their time of greatest need, I can only say that what they offer is nothing short of priceless…….yet it’s free of charge!

So this is where we come in.  They need our help and support to continue their amazing work, caring for life.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE dig deep, raid your piggy banks or sell the family silver - whatever it takes to give a little something back.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. This will be the biggest challenge of my life ..………..please make my knee pain, blisters and potential toenail loss, count for something! x
