We exist to give a lifetime of support to the wider Army family, regardless of where or when a soldier served. We act swiftly and efficiently in providing support in the form of grants to those who find themselves in real need. We also provide grants to charities who support the wider Army family.

Story

My school do a Curry run every year to raise money for The Soldiers' Charity but this is the first year I've been able to run it. So on the 27th April 2013 about 400 people will be running one of these three distances;

4km for all the soldiers that are killed in action. 395 soldiers=3950m rounded up to 4km ( this is the distance I am running)

10km for all killed in action and those who were seriously injured. 988 soldiers=9880m rounded up to 10km

and 24km for all the soldiers killed in action, seriously injured and wounded in action. 2470=24700m rounded to 24km.

Here is the soldiers' charity's website:

Everyone participating in this run gets assigned a soldierto run in memory of. My soldier is Private Gavin Elliot. He died en route to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound on foot patrol.

If you wish to find out a bit more about him here are some websites:
