Lou's climbing 4810m up Mont Blanc (June 2019) · 26 June 2019

Motivated by the strength and unfaltering sense of humour of our youngest daughter Poppy, we as a family are committed to support The Lily Foundation and help find a cure for Mitochondrial Disease.

Story

Every year, I love to challenge myself. In June 2019, I head to the Alps to climb the 11th highest mountain in the world - Mont Blanc - with a small team of colleagues at Samsung.

It's not going to be easy! For the next 6 months, I'll be training; climbing mountains and waking up early to get stronger and fitter, as well as carrying a 30 litre bag.

I'm aiming to raise £2,500 for The Lily Foundation, which is a charity set up to help fight Mitochondrial Disease - a person may suffer from seizures, fatigue, vision and hearing loss, cognitive disabilities, respiratory problems or poor growth which leads to the body's organs shutting down and ultimately death. All donations will go towards finding a cure through research, and supporting families going through such tough times with this disease.

I'd love your support and donations for this amazing cause, which will spur me on while I'm climbing this steep mountain!

MORE INFO ON THE LILY FOUNDATION:

The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old.

The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.Did you know, every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16?! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.

Please contribute anything you can to help fight Mitochondrial Disease; aiming to find a cure through research, and support families going through such tough times with this disease.
