Vicky, Gemma and Krista are climbing to the peak of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, to inspire you to donate a bit of cash to Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

It sounds pretty simple, and for you guys it is! All we need you to do is click the 'Donate Now' button and enter your card details along with a little message of encouragement for us. Meanwhile we will be training and fundraising like crazy things to make sure that we reach both of our targets: 5,895 meters in altitude and £10,500.00 in donations!

Why? Because, as Rainbows puts it, "children with a short life to live have alot of living to do." Rainbows Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care for children and young people, offers respite care to give their families support and strives to make every minute special for children who will not have the opportunity to live a healthy childhood, enjoy adulthood's ups and downs and have children of their own. Last year the hospice extended its facilities to make it possible for children who, against all odds and expectations, have reached their 18th birthday to continue to spend time at the hospice up to the age of 30. Of course, this costs a huge amount of money and this is where we come in...

The climb will be pretty intensive - over 6 days we will be taking on an average of 7 hours trekking per day, with a muscle-pounding 12 hours trekking on summit day. Not hard enough for you? Well lets add the fact that we will be climbing from +40C on the East African plains to -4C on the mountain's glacier with acute mountain sickness threatening to prevent us from reaching the top you can see that this is no walk in the park.

To reach our HUGE TARGET will make a massive difference to countless children and young people and as much as we can train and dig-deep in our own pockets we need your help! So please get donating and encourage others to do the same. Also, if you know of any events that we could come along to and raise a bit of cash please get in touch.

We'll keep you posted on the blisters, bucket shaking and bag packing!

Vicky, Gemma and Krista xxx
