When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

Please help my son, Louis, reach his starting target of £125, so he can abseil 100ft down Battersea Power Station, on Sunday 4th November - on behalf of his Grandad!

About Louis' Grandad - his name is Graham Rogers.  He delivered radios to the blind, helped at the local hospice, and worked for Victim Support at his local Magistrates Court.  He has always helped others.  Now we want to help him, and others like him.

On August 27th 2012 Louis' Grandad had a stroke.

He's now in hospital on a rehabilitation ward, and is working very hard to get back the use of the left side of his body - he says he's aged 11 like Louis - he's 74, 7+4=11! - and like a child, he's having to learn (again) how to do even basic things, like move his left hand.

It's great he can talk with us and still has his sense of humour!

Louis wanted to help raise money for the Stroke Association so they can help other people like his Grandad/my Dad to get better, and give other families support too.

Louis loves climibing, so a 100ft abseil down Battersea Power station sounded perfect for him - and a fun way to help the charity! It'll be his first time down a building, but he doesn't think it'll be a problem!

Please help Louis reach his target so he can complete this amazing challenge, and help his Grandad.
