UPDATE!!!!
Charlie's Angels successfully completed the Fun Regatta and won the women's final!!!!!
On the 6th August 2011, our crew of 4 novice rowers (Louise Cliffe, Jo Fletcher, Lynn Ford & Lisa Smith) will take to the River Severn in Shrewsbury to raise funds for the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre Appeal, a local Cancer Charity, which improves facilities for cancer patients in Shropshire & Mid Wales! (and who Louise & Jo work for!)
I know many of you are thinking that we have lost the plot considering none of us are keen on water and have some co-ordination problems!
We have been assured that we will get 5 weeks training before race day, though fairly certain this won't be enough!
With this in mind, please give generously as it is it going to take all the courage we have to actually get in the boat, not to mention the trouble getting out! and we have the added problem of co-ordinating the oars!!!
Feel free to turn up on the day to support us (& rescue us from the river if we fall in!)
Update - 7th July 2011 - Sadly Jo has had to pull out due to injury, but reserve rower Marie Smith has stepped up to the mark!!
We can also report that we have survived the first training session - which was in a 'tank' and not on the river - that's next week hurdle!!
Update - 12th July 2011 - We have successfully completed our first session on the River Severn & survived!!!
Update 2nd August 2011 - OK, completed our last training session last night. Hopefully we will be ready for race day on Saturday!! Please come and support us from 1pm at Pengwern Boat Club, Shrewsbury
