It's that time of year again and having said "NEVER AGAIN" last year... I'm set to run 21km for the Great North Run again this year.
This will definitely be the last time, as long as the knees (which are now 40!) get me through it!
I'm running in support of the charity "Missing People" this year and really hope you will sponsor me. Missing People is an amazing (and surprisingly small) charity and the stories of the people they've helped have really touched me...just don't know what I'd do if Alfie or Sian (or Simon!) went missing.
210,000 people are reported missing in the UK every year and over 100,000 of these are children. Thankfully, most are found pretty quickly and last year, 77% of cases publicised by Missing People were resolved.
Missing People works with the family and the police to assist the search with publicity posters, web appeals and with media partners including the BBC, Daily Mirror and Metro. They also offer real support to the families left behind.
I know things are a bit tough financially for a lot of us at the moment but please, if you can, make a donation to Missing People.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
