Hello there, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year on Easter Sunday a group of us did a charity cycle (approx 60 miles - Dublin to Carlingford) for an orphanage in Africa where my cousin Deirdre's aunt, a nun, worked. Between our cycle and a pub quiz we raised 6500 Euros which went towards buying 5 acres of farmland which has being tilled and is growing vegetables, getting floors concreted in the building, electrical work done, and the rest went on food and basics.
A few of us are doing the cycle again on Easter Sunday this year. Sadly Deirdre's aunt has now left Africa and the orphanage and as a result we've decided to raise money for our own chosen charities this year. I've chosen to raise money for Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation - a national charity that raises money for sick children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK (for projects that are not NHS funded e.g. family accommodation, respite care etc.). I have a lovely niece Nina and am 'Aunty Lou' to a few other children by now too and love them all to bits, hence I am keen to raise money for a children's charity.
Any amount of sponsorship would be gratefully recieved and would make the pain on the day well worth it!
Thanks very much!
Louise x
