Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

As you'll see from the title of my page, I'm going to be running six races in the next six months to raise money for Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK.

Why am I doing this you might ask?  Through a friend I met Jenny McMillan and her son Blake, who has been diagnosed with MeCP2 Duplication Syndrome.  The condition is incredibly rare, and over £1 million worth of studies are waiting to be funded in both Scotland and the USA.

I like a challenge, so in order to help raise money to fund research into a cure for MeCP2 I decided to run the Liverpool Half Marathon...then I decided to run the St Andrews Running Festival 10k....then I added the Dundee Half Marathon, and that's when the "Six in Six" challenge was born.

Beginning in March 2013, I'll be running at least one organised 10k or half marathon a month, for six months.  The work of the Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK helps so many families like Jenny's, and if I have to run a few miles to make you part with your hard-earned cash, I'm more than happy to take on the challenge!
