On Sunday 4th October I did the Woodland Walk at to raise money for the Berkshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre (BMSTC), as described on the left. The College is set in 230 acres of Berkshire countryside, but I didn't walk the full circuit....I actually managed to walk one and a half miles in 45 minutes on wobbly legs, but it was all worth it. It was a beautiful Autumn day, and the views across the south Oxfordshire countryside were wonderful.
The therapy centre does amazing work for people with MS, their families and carers providing beneficial therapies, information and practical support - and they kindly helped me last year.
As you probably know (because you may well have sponsored me!), I did a sponsored walk for BMSTC last October and was overwhelmed by the fantastic generosity of my friends and family and raised over £575. I don’t want to put pressure on you now, especially in this tough climate, so please only donate if you can afford to. Even a couple of quid would be really fantastic because it all adds up.
There are at least 85,000 of us living with MS in the , each of whom relies on centres such as BMSTC around the country to provide therapy and support.
The Berkshire MS Therapy Centre is entirely self funding – its costs met exclusively from fund-raising activities, local grants and donations, but its total running costs each year are upwards of £350,000. Therefore, anything that can be raised through sponsorship is very much appreciated, as you can imagine.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Berkshire MS Therapy Centre and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please sponsor me if you can, and a huge thanks on behalf of me, the BMSTC and all their present and future clients for whatever you can spare. The money raised is going to a great cause and your support is very much appreciated.
If you could forward this link to your friends and family who may be interested in helping the Centre, I'd be very grateful.
Many thanks again.
Best wishes
Louise x
