Story

On the 2nd of June Ele, Andrew and Louise will take on the Outlaw Half Ironman as a team. With Ele doing a 1.2 miles swim, a 56 mile cycle for Lou and a 13.1 mile run for Andrew. We are taking part along with another 28 friends to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service in memory of a truly great and inspirational friend. We are aiming to raise £20,000 for this fantastic Service who do not receive any government funding and rely on donations.

Chris was an incredible person who always strived to pushed himself to be better at pretty much everything and encouraged those he met to do the same. He always looked for the next bigger and harder challenge which lead to him taking on the full Ironman triathlon last year completing twice the distances we are doing by himself. Sadly Chris died on the 10th October 2012 following an accident whilst on holiday in the Lake District with his fiancée. The Great North Air Ambulance Service were the first on site and did all they could to try and save Chris and support his fiancee.
