Story

I’m writing to ask you

To read through this small ditty,

And give me some time to prove to you that I’m pretty

MAD - but not insane,

To embark on a trip with friends,

On two wheels and some handlebars

From the beginning to the end!

For I’m off on a bicycle

From London to Paris in May,

Which should be fine –

As long as we don’t get lost along the way.

We start off on the 21st

With padded pants and all,

And arrive on the 23rd

With hopefully no falls.

I’m doing this for a charity,

And one dear to my heart

The Child Bereavement Charity

Supporting people from the start

Who are grieving for a lost one

Be it a child, parent or friend,

The CBC is there for you

When you’re “going round the bend”.

And that’s the reason I’m embarking on this rather daunting challenge,

But you could make it easier if you think that you might manage

To sponsor me along the road and encourage me to go

From London to Paris, if deep down I know,

That your help will help some families who are struggling to move on

With their lives, which seem very bleak as their grief is so strong.

So please go to www.justgiving.com/Louise-del-Balzo

If you could be so kind,

It will make a lot of difference

And give me piece of mind.

I thank you lots in advance and at the end I’m sure

That as long as I can still stand up

I will then thank you lots more.

So off I go to train a bit

For the bike ride extraordinaire;

I will report from the other side of the Channel,

But for now “Merci et au revoir”!

Lots of love, Louise
