Story
We've done it! Simon and I sucessfully completed our sponsored solo skydives at Dunkeswell Airfield on Saturday 3rd June 2006. We jumped out at 3,500 feet and apart from the odd bruise made it safely back down!
I'm not sure if I've ever been more petrified and I don't know if I would have actually made the jump if it hadn't been for all the tremendous support we've recieved and the knowledge that we were doing it for such a worthy cause.
We were aiming to rescue Musgrove, a Chinese Moon Bear. Like thousands of endangered Moon Bears on factory farms in China, Musgrove has never seen the sun. He is imprisoned 24 hours a day, seven days a week in a tiny coffin-like cage.
The bears are 'milked' everyday, through rusting catheters, for their bile which is used in Traditional Chinese Medicines even though their are cheaper synthetic and herbal alternatives available. The extraction process is unimaginably painful; it causes terrible injuries and often a painful and needless death.
You can still help rescue Musgrove.
To secure Musgrove's release and a life free of pain at the Animals Asia sanctuary we need to raise £5000. We are well over half way to reaching this target but still need more your help. Please give what you can-any amount towards our target can help make a real difference to this lovely bears life.
Donating through justgiving is simple and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Animals Asia Foundation will receive your money directly and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you so much for your support.
