After 'dipping my toe in the water' on Boxing Day at Cromer Pier I've decided to push the boat out CANCELLED(and do the one mile swim in Lake Windermere on 4th September as part of the British Gas Great North Swim event.) 

I've done a bit of training, and hope to complete the mile in about 30 minutes... once I've had a go at swimming outdoors with a wetsuit on that is!  

It's for a brilliant cause - www.greyhoundgap.org.uk - rescuing greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds that would otherwise be put to sleep and helping them find their forever homes.
