Story
Thank you for visiting my web page.
As you know, two of my greatest interests are mountain running and animal welfare, and it is very fortunate that I can combine the two and feel that I am achieving something on both fronts.
The Mount Olympus - Enippeas Valley mountain race which happens on December 6 gives me the opportunity to fundraise for RSPCA and contribute to their important work. I hope that you will sponsor me in my attempt to raise 500 pounds through my participation in a challenging mountain race.
A few words about the event, and some links, since the website of the Olympus Marathon does not provide information in English on this other, smaller race they organise. The race happens every first Sunday of December, it is 23 km long, and apart from 3-4 kilometers on asphalt the rest of the route is on mountain paths, going through forests and valleys. It is restricted to only 300 participants who must have previous running experience of similar races in the last two years. The profile of the race, Google map description and Google Earth links, plus a youtube video in Greece will give you an idea of the profile of this event:

I don't think there is need to go into the work of RSPCA. I only want to highlight that there has been a fast-growing number of animals in the UK who have been experienced neglect and abandonment since the latest economic downturn has begun, and this has put an additional strain on the resources of the RSPCA. My target of 500 pounds will be a much-needed contribution to their efforts.
Thanks to everyone.
