Story
Hello there.
I'm a bit suspicious of sponsored events. The last sponsored event I did for charity was a sponsored hop on one leg for SIX MONTHS. Well, it started as one of those "i'm going to get everyone I know to pay charities so I can do something I really want to do anyway..." things. Ideal you might think, everyone's a winner. It turns out, however, that I didn't actually want to throw myself out of a plane armed with only a few bits of string and a cloth to defend me against the rather hard land 10,000ft below me. It all went rather wrong and I broke my leg pretty badly.
Anyway, on Sunday, i'm going to face my fears and embark on a half marathon for Help the Aged/Age Concern (they've merged, crazy huh). Now, I know running 13 miles is nothing to lots of people, but to make it all that harder I've done next to no training. It actually will be seriously painful. But, if anything will get me through, it will be knowing that you'll be giving some money to the old people if I finish it. Aren't old people just awesome.
If you could spare just a couple of minutes and a few of your finest english pounds for this sadly all too needed cause then that'd make me, but far more importantly the old people really happy.
Thank you and the very best of wishes to you.
