Story
While cycling to Lands End over 3 days may not seem like the greatest challenge, when you consider the fitness and basic cycling ability of those taking on the miles we hope you will be inspired to donate towards our cause.
Having started out in the summer of 2014 as a joke suggestion to cycle from our Lovell Rugby HQ in Paignton to the most westerly point in England, over the winter it was decided that we should make a serious attempt at this in the name of charity. There were those who talked the talk but ultimately it has come down to a group who for the majority hadn't cycled in years, let alone knew how to change gears and thought that a speed bump was quite an effort to overcome.
In no uncertain terms, this is a challenge for everyone involved and will test the strength, commitment and motivation of everyone involved. For many it's out with the gym weights and on with the lycra! Cue hours of training along the coast and around the rolling hills of South Devon in preparation for the ride starting May 22nd 2015.
So why Macmillan? Well earlier this year one of our colleagues was diagnosed with a rare form of Burkitts Lymphoma and is currently undergoing extensive treatment. When we told him that this was our chosen charity it clearly raised his spirits and we hope it will continue to do so. While we are training hard and battling the elements, he is facing a much tougher challenge so it puts everything into perspective.
Any amount you can donate will be greatly appreciated and go towards a worthwhile cause.
