Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
I'm riding to save lives, so that many children may smile in the sunshine.
Why should you help? According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day from preventable causes. Things like: diarrhoea, pneumonia, measles and malaria - afflictions that cost pennies to treat or prevent.
So what am I doing to help? I have trained a team of everyday people and will cycle as a team from London to Paris and raise £25,000 to save children’s lives. I will then move onto 4 mountain ranges the pros climb in the Tour de France, which includes: Col du Galibier, the highest mountain pass of the Alps; Col du Télégraphe; Col de la Croix De Fer and L’Alp D'Huez, pictured in the middle below. Btw, those ludicrous yellow squiggles denote the only route up.
Think I'm mad? Well, you wouldn’t be far wrong, last year we did 'Mount Ventoux' aka the 'Domain of Angels' by night! This year will be another epic journey and I hope you can support us in saving children's lives.
We have chosen 3 worthwhile charities to ride for: UNICEF, Compassion and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). I have chosen to ride for ADRA. There is so much I can say about this organisation which has been granted ‘General Consultative Status’ by the UN, the highest level offered to NGO’s, or the life saving impact it continues to make to 25 million people each year, but I feel this short film clip is a thoroughly better way demonstrating just how ADRA chooses to take responsibility for not only helping people survive, but to thoroughly thrive!
If those two reasons weren't enough, then this might help you: 25,000spins has no admin costs. That's right; everything we do is voluntary: the drivers, riders, mechanics, admin, support workers, all costs, the families and friends that put up with us; so that all 100% of your giving goes straight to help ADRA, UNICEF and Compassion do their job!
To make a donation today that will sponsor me on the ride for ADRA, kindly visit www.25000spins.com or join our page: Riding To Save Lives. on Facebook. You can also enjoy the very latest on: http://twitter.com/lowellabc and come along for the ride ;-)
Whatever you give will make a difference. You may even know a friend who would be interested, so go on and spread the love, share this story. My deadline for raising the minimum £700 is 14 July and with your help, I can make it. Btw, despite only officially starting to fund raise this June, thanks to the generosity of people like you, I’m already half way there! Thanks for all your support,
Lowell
